The paintings of Peru

In an attempt to find my "style", I spent the last year using my photos as material or inspiration for my paintings. I am relatively new to the painting world although I have been drawing for years. I use to dabble in acrylics but am now immersed in the world of oils and I must admit that I love it. I am not quite ready to share the the outcome of this experience (oh no, I am far to critical of my own work to do that!) but here are some of the photos that I have been using to help me find my way.

I took these while on the Lares Trek in Peru. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the people and particularly the children face to face in this truly spectacular country and exchange a few words with my limited but slowly increasing Spanish vocabulary.
