Colours
With Springtime not quite around the corner (the sun made a fleeting appearance in Paris this morning only to disappear to a dreary grey), I have decided to dedicate this current entry to the colours of Laos.
Perhaps it is me but even my habitual café seemed a bit lacklustre this morning. No music played in the background and people huddled over their coffee, must less animated than usual. In Laos, colour is abound mostly due to the saffron robes of the monks but also in the detail of nature. Here are some photos to brighten up your day (and as I write this, the sun as reappeared !)

Le retour
Starting from scratch...well almost.
If you ask me what happened since August, I can sum it up in one word and four letters W-O-R-K
Blog intentions were good but alas, work got the better of me. That is now (hopefully) in the past and I am ready to leave my fingerprints with you again.
Despite the lack of blog time, I did not fortunately compromise my traveling during the year. These breaks were more than necessary and, as always, glorious. One of my closest friends (and the ultimate traveling partner) and I had organised to go to Myanmar but due to the elections and the incertitude of the country at the time, we changed our itinerary in the end (which is never too difficult as we tend to plan our trip en route). With one and half hours sleep and a somewhat untouched guide book, we boarded the plane and headed to our destination.... LAOS (with a pit stop in Bangkok to catch the train).
I am sharing in this first segment (because, oh yes, I have I hopes that there will be MULTIPLE SEGEMENTS and on a REGULAR BASIS) a quick overview of some of the sights; a quick memory flash for me of the people we met and the scenes were presented to us on a daily basis.
